Jacob Bezner & Friends All-Star Break Report Card

Blue Hennessy

Blue Hennessy ended the first 3rd of the season in 10th place. Of course not the ideal beginning to the campaign but the newcomers found themselves top 4 in 2 roto categories and top half in 3 categories. There was promise and a sense of direction. However the loss of Mookie Betts has been terminal for Delaware’s finest as they find themselves dead last in the roto in the second 3rd of the season and bottom 2 in every single category. The injury has left a mess and Blue Hennessy have had an absolutely nightmare response. Young stars CJ Abrams and Grayson Rodriguez have impressed but that has not been nearly enough. I’m sure Blue Hen alum, and current U.S. “President” Joseph R. Biden would declare this club a state of emergency, if he could complete a sentence. Grade: D-

Brutus

Another year beneath mediocrity for Brutus. At what point will it click for this island of misfit toys? Doesn’t appear to be any time soon. They certainly have some strong core players but their future looks bleak and their season is essentially over. Grade: F

Bwentford Baldies

The Baldies are certainly the best of the teams outside the playoff picture, but was being the best of the outsiders the goal coming into the season for Bwentford? Especially with stars Aaron Judge and Elly De La Cruz headlining, many supporters hoped for playoffs. Still there are some real good players here so next season is certainly not out of the question, but this season has been a comb over. Grade: D

Nathan’s Team

Nathan’s Team are playing competitive baseball post All-Star break! With ⅔ of the season completed, Nathan’s Team find themselves right in the mix of things. A revamped scouting department has Nathan playing the best they ever have. A really solid rotation and a newly acquired bullpen have been the backbone for this underdog story. Will it continue in the 2nd half? We’ll have to see, but they certainly have the pieces to compete down the line. Grade: A

Patty Daddy

It’s been a really bad season for Patty Daddy. After years of being at the edge of the playoff picture, Patty Daddy got off to an all-time bad start. They’ve improved marginally over the past 7 weeks but not nearly enough to even come close to the playoff picture. They have positioned themselves decently for the future but it’s been an awful, forgettable season for Patty Daddy. Grade: D-

Sho Time

Sho Time have once again been the best team in the regular season. Balancing timely pitching with outstanding offense Sho Time are hard to beat. They are surely the top competitor this season and are projected to win a fourth consecutive Supporter’s Shield. Grade A

The Oppenheimers

No, the Oppenheimers aren’t making the playoffs this year. No, they are not even in the picture. However they are considerably better now than last season. At 68-107-5, they are very close to eclipsing their end of season record from last year. And with young talent like Riley Greene, Bryson Stott, and the electrifying Paul Skenes, The Oppenheimers could be looking at a playoff run in 2025. Grade: C

Andre’s Grandma BC, Lagermeisters, Meet the Hands, Sinjins Team, Triple Crown

Other than Sinjin who have been extremely hot over the past 7 weeks, the rest of these teams have remained relevant all season and have had multi-week flashes of brilliance, but an overall lack of consistency have evaded them There’s very little to be comfortable about when positions 3-4 are in competition from 5 clubs all 5.5 games within each other. But AGBC have the best starting pitching in the league. Lagermeisters have an incredibly potent and powerful offense. Meet the Hands have had excellent pitching, especially starting pitching though that’s been a little unreliable as of late. Sinjin’s Team have an electric offense. Triple Crown are lacking depth right now but despite a serious fall out in the roto they are have managed to hang on to their playoff spot. Still any 3 of these teams can make the playoffs. Grade: B+
